TL;DR Review

Ninja Scroll is one of those anime films that you show to your friend in order to induct them into being an anime weebo.

The animation is beautifully haunting and still hold up to today standard. Yoshiaki Kawajiri, previously worked on Wicked City and Demon City Shinjuku, have a similar art style and dark tone.

The ending theme “Dare mo ga Tooku de Ballad o Kiite iru” (誰もが遠くでバラードを聴いている) by Ryouhei Yamanashi is a beautiful haunting melody that best encapsulates the ending of this great anime.

Widely praised for its animation and action scenes, Ninja Scroll is frequently regarded as one of the most influential anime films ever made; alongside Akira and Ghost in the Shell, it was responsible for increasing the popularity of adult-oriented anime outside of Japan.

I absolutely love this movie and have lost count how many times I have re-watched it. This film demonstrated anime isn’t just a medium for children.

I highly recommend Ninja Scroll movie to everyone. However, this is a mature anime so viewer discretion is advised. If you have never seen this, you need to stop whatever anime you are watching and track this film down. Ninja Scroll contains sexual content, graphic violence, and partial nudities. Intended for mature audiences.
