Godawan Durbar Evenings presents Ruhbaru's Orchestral Qawwali Project – India Tour 2026, featuring live performances by composer Rushil Ranjan and qawwal Abi Sampa. Making its India debut, the Orchestral Qawwali Project brings together western classical, choral, Indian classical and Sufi traditions in an immersive live musical experience. Led by Rushil Ranjan and Abi Sampa, the independent ensemble has performed at iconic venues, including London's Royal Albert Hall, and has been described by The Sunday Times as "a stunner."
The Orchestral Qawwali Project combines devotion, orchestration and artistry through a contemporary interpretation of Qawwali. Its musical approach blends multiple traditions into a distinctive orchestral experience, bringing together classical and Sufi influences. The India tour will visit Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai as part of the Godawan Durbar Evenings series.
Godawan Estuary Premium Water presents the tour, co-powered by HSBC and brought to you by BAE. The performances are scheduled across four Indian cities from December 5 to December 13, 2026, with all shows starting at 7:30 PM. Tickets are available exclusively on District.
The tour is also associated with the conservation story of the Godawan, Rajasthan's Great Indian Bustard, a critically endangered bird once found across India's grasslands. The initiative highlights the importance of protecting the remaining population and preserving India's natural heritage.
