Independence Day Music Festival 2026 is a three-day music festival presented by Sree Poornathrayeesa Sangeetha Sabha, Tripunithura, from 14 to 16 August 2026 at Abhishekam Convention Centre, Tripunithura. The festival celebrates India’s rich musical heritage through a programme of Hindustani violin, Carnatic vocal, ghazals, bhajans, and related musical performances.

The festival opens on 14 August with an inauguration by eminent music director Sri T. S. Radhakrishnan and a felicitation for Padma Vibhushan Dr. N. Rajam in recognition of the nation’s second-highest civilian honour conferred upon her in 2026. The opening programme also includes the Augustine Joseph Memorial Thamburu Awards, instituted by Padma Vibhushan Dr. K. J. Yesudas, honouring promising young musicians. The 14 August programme features Padma Vibhushan Dr. N. Rajam in Hindustani Violin, followed by Carnatic Vocal by Sri Sid Sriram on 15 August and Ghazals & Bhajans by Smt. Gayatri Asokan on 16 August.

The festival is scheduled at Abhishekam Convention Centre, Tripunithura, with programmes beginning at 6:00 PM on 14, 15, and 16 August, with the Hindustani Violin concert on 14 August beginning at 6:30 PM.
