Experience the intensity and spiritual energy of Poothanum Thirayum, a traditional ritual performance presented as part of the Meythari Kalari Workshop for Performing Artists. Hosted at Kerala Arts & Crafts Village (KACV), Kovalam, this event is curated by KACV as an immersive cultural experience that brings Kerala’s ritual art forms to life.

Rooted in Theyyam traditions, the performance showcases powerful transformations where performers embody divine characters through elaborate costumes, rhythmic drumming, and expressive movement. As part of the ongoing Meythari workshop (April 24 – May 3), this evening performance reflects both training and live cultural presentation, offering audiences a rare chance to witness tradition, discipline, and artistry come together in a dynamic setting.
